Jakes Cafe 2015 Holiday Open House

The 5th Annual Jake’s Cafe Holiday Open House drew nearly 500 guests this year!  Our special guests included the Coastal Young Professionals Network. The event featured everything from bratwurst/sauerkraut and venison/gorgonzola gourmet pizzas to sushi!  The entire event was managed by the Lakeshore Culinary Institute.  Nourish Farms also provided a variety of tasty organic options.  Eric Hansen of the Eighth Street Ale Haus provided a wonderful selection of seasonal craft beers. and Christmas music was provided by David and Danika Williamson (formerly of Beef Tea).

This open house provided the venue for Lakeshore Technical College to demonstrate it’s new 3D printer and SolidWorks design stations.  Jake’s Cafe also featured it’s new cafe called “Brainstorm” which is under the management of PaVoua Vang, an LTC Hospitality Student.  On exhibit were the works of  local artist, Dale Knaak.  Knack had nearly 30 works on display.  It was also the grand opening of the Chris and Janet Graf Art Trust, which is currently under the management of their son, Hans Graf.  The gallery features the original works of Picasso, Rembrandt, Christo, Chagall, Braque, Rauschenberg and more!

Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefish met with Peter Thillman, LTC’s Vice President-Workforce and Economic Development to discuss plans for LTC’s initiatives to promote new product development opportunities for area entrepreneurs in addition to plans for strengthening relationships between LTC’s manufacturing/design students and area manufacturing companies. Rebecca Kleefisch is an American former television news anchor and politician, who is currently serving as the 44th Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin. She was elected to the position on November 2, 2010, as the running mate of Governor Scott Walker.
