Nourish will present the final TED Talk next Wednesday, April 30, of the season all about food… just in time for you to plant a garden the following weekend! Two TED Talk presentations will be followed by a Nourish presentation, food discussion, and information on other local food organizations in Sheboygan.  The first TED Talk speaker is Jamie Oliver, the founder of the Food Revolution movement and television program. He gives a “wake-up call” presentation about the processed food we eat, the consequences of it for adults and children, and proposes simple solutions.   The next talk brings us to the source of our food: farms. A young boy asks that we give our kids more nutritional food and explains why he wants to become an organic farmer when he grows up. Short, powerful message.
Nourish will prepare a lunch that features fresh, seasonal, local food. Donations for lunch are welcome!
Just a friendly reminder that this is limited to the first 25 people who sign up. During the Jake’s Café TED Talk lunch season, we meet every Wednesday around 11:30amwith our first talk starting around 11:45am in the basement conference room here at Jake’s Cafe and go until about 1pm.TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. Here at Jake’s Cafe, we use these speeches as a source of inspiration and aspiration as well as a platform for discussion amongst our members.
