President at Jake’s Cafe
I grew up in the advertising business. My father was a cartoonist for the Saturday Evening Post. My mother was a writer and studio artist. Together they launched Jacobson Advertising in 1957. In time, it became a real powerhouse with household brands like Trek, Swiss Miss, Culvers, Leinenkugels, Kalahari, First Alert, Fisher Nuts, Kimberly Clark, Sargento, Mercury Marine and many more.

I officially joined the agency in 1981, and together with my new partner Jon Rost, grew the agency to become one of the finest agencies in the Midwest. My wife Ann Marie and I sold the agency in 2010 and then with Steve Mech, from CSA Commercial, started Wisconsin’s first creative co-working community.

While running Jakes Cafe is my first and foremost responsibility, I’m also a brand consultant and work in concert with many of our members. On Friday mornings at 7:30 am, I lead a bible study group. Ann Marie and I have been married over 30 years and we have three daughters. I enjoy traveling, golf, photography, film-making, sailing, art, painting, music and the culinary arts! Ann Marie loves vegetarian cuisine, yoga, bicycling, reading, foreign travel and motherhood.
